This coverage is the most important coverage of the auto insurance policy!

In my 20 plus years as an insurance agent, I have encountered many people who have assets to protect but don't have a clue as to how to properly protect those assets. of the most expensive and least understood coverages of the auto insurance policy.

How Liability Coverage Works
To begin with there are two parts to your liability coverage. The first is bodily
injury liability coverage. Bodily injury liability coverage is simple to understand, contrary to the belief of the general public. It protects you against liability that you
would incur if you were the cause of an accident which resulted in injuries to another
party.

The person(s) injured may be in another vehicle, a pedestrian or a passenger
in your vehicle. This does not normally include another named insured on your
policy, such as your spouse. You cannot be libel to yourself. You need to check with
your insurance company for a definition of a named insured as they define it in your
policy. This could vary from company to company and state to state, depending on
the laws governing insurance in your state.

There are many areas covered under bodily injury liability coverage that most
people are not aware of; however, bodily injury liability coverage is very basic once
you grasp the concept.
